He gets a lesson or two. Then the next thing you know, he is out there at the commandant’s office asking to resign. Why is he asking to resign? What is the highest common denominator to his activity, or to the activities which cause these withdrawals from life, activities, goals and enthusiasms? He has erased all the interest in the whole subject of jet pilots. He didn’t have very much interest, he couldn’t mock it up. He suddenly had come into a deposit of interest. He had been sold by a poster or something of the sort. This interest was very slight. He himself could not create interest. So he simply went into something and erased all the interest he had on the subject which left him with nothing but some attention which he had given to it before.
